Internet Marketing Business Opportunities
Why A Great Home Business Opportunity Is Not Enough
In my search for legitimate methods of making money online, I surfed incessantly from one sales page to another sales page, hoping that each new advertisement would promise something that the last one didn’t. I naively thought that there was a perfect internet marketing opportunity out there somewhere. Well, I hate to burst your bubble if you’re currently of this persuasion, but there is no such perfect opportunity. Every opportunity will promise you the world, but it takes much more than simply a great opportunity to succeed online.
Most “gurus” out there who promise that they have the best new “system” that will help you get rich in three months with very little effort have one thing in common: they are all expert internet marketers, and they spent years acquiring the expertise that allowed them to have a prominent career in internet marketing. Many of them do, in fact offer useful business building programs, such as solid prospecting tools and great compensation plans. These tools help in reducing the amount of time it takes to succeed in their opportunites. However, it doesn’t matter if something has the potential to pay you $10,000 per day; if you don’t know how to get your sales message in front of people, you will fail.
Sadly, most internet marketing gurus fail miserably when it comes to instructing people on how to effectively market their amazing product. Why? Well, I could write an entire blog on this subject, but I have a few theories. First, learning effective internet marketing and search engine optimization strategies is an extremely boring and tedious process. However, the effects of learning solid skills in this arena are astounding: if you learn these skills, you will make a lot of money online. Unfortunately, the actual process of learning everything is arduous, to say the least. You see, internet marketing gurus know that if they talked about this in their sales copy, they would turn off a lot of potential prospects, because who really likes to be reminded that they actually have to work hard at something, anyway?
My advice? Forget about looking for the “next big thing” and focus on training to become a great internet marketer. Pick a solid opportunity, stick to it, and learn how to put prospects in front of your offer. If you learn how to do this, any opportunity suddenly becomes the perfect opportunity.
